Search Under Fire: Live-Fire Search, Rescue & VES Operations 
Is a 16-hour course focused on aggressive, disciplined, and coordinated search operations at residential structure fires. Students will develop skills in search size-up, fire behavior, flow path awareness, communication, oriented search, targeted search, victim location, packaging, and removal. The course includes Vent-Enter-Search/Window-Initiated Search techniques, including ladder placement, window clearing, room isolation, and victim removal. The final 8 hours place students into controlled live-fire evolutions to apply search and rescue skills under heat, smoke, limited visibility, and changing conditions. Prerequisites: Minimum age: 18+, and ELIF or EBM. Requirements: Pen/Pencil, Notebook; TOG, SCBA and spare cylinder required. The course is a Non-PSFA CEU program. Total hours = 16, CEUs = 1.6.  Min/Max for class: 12 / 30.

  • Starts:  Tuesday, October 20 at 6 p.m.
  • Runs:  Tuesday & Thursday, October 20 & 22, 6-10 p.m., & Saturday, October 24, 6 p.m.-2 a.m. PLEASE NOTE:  Saturday, October 24 is a night operation, from 6 p.m.-2 a.m.
