Special Vehicle Rescue (DOH) (DHSV) Extended - Spring 2027 - PSTC

This is an extended course with 8-hours of hands-on training in heavy rescue. Course Goal: This course will prepare the student who is knowledgeable in basic vehicle rescue operations to deal with large scale vehicle accidents in a safe, effective, patient-oriented manner. Description of Course: This course is part of a comprehensive rescue training program developed and promulgated by the PA Dept. of Health. It builds upon the knowledge and skill acquired in the prerequisite to prepare the student to deal with rescue situations involving larger vehicles such as buses and large trucks. This course is taught to the standards established by the PA Dept. of Health; the written examination required for certification as a Special Vehicle Rescue Technician is administered at the conclusion of this course. Prerequisites: Minimum age: 18 years old at start of course and NVRO or DHVR or BVRT or BVRC. Student Equipment & Supplies: Pen/Pencil, Notebook; and PPE. Course is a PSFA CEU program.
