This course is intended for Emergency Responders, as well as, other private or municipal agencies. This course is an awareness level program covering system types, code compliant installations, associated hazards, and safe work practices near solar PV systems. The course will introduce students to solar PV system operation, components, design and recommended practices. To provide relevant information on the history, design and hazards of alternative energy systems, focusing on photovoltaic (PV) solar energy systems and safety measures so that fire service personnel can make informed decisions to operate safely. Prerequisites: Minimum age: 14 years old at start of course. Student Equipment & Supplies: Pen/Pencil, Notebook. Course is a PSFA CEU program. Total hours = 4, CEUs = 0.4
