Fireground Support (ELFS) - Extended with CPR, HMA, & TIM is the new 2026 module 1 Essentials Series.  This program combines the previous versions of ELIS and ELFG into one program. This entry level course is designed to prepare the student for the new Fireground Support certification by introduce new firefighters to basic and complex information including an overview of the fire service, fire service history, it’s mission and organization, firefighter safety, personal protective equipment, tools, communications, work areas, backing apparatus, fire hose, water supply, hose operations, ropes and knots, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), building construction, and scene lighting. The extended version provides addition required training, which sets the student up for success, by providing Traffic Incident Management (TIM), Hazardous Materials Awareness (HMA24), and First Aid & CPR.  Prerequisites: Minimum age: 14 years old at start of course, Requirements: Turn-Out Gear (TOG), not needed the 1st night of class, Fundamentals of Firefighter Skills and Hazardous Materials Response, 5th Edition.

  • Fall 2026 - PSTC
  • Starts:  Tuesday, September 8 at 6 p.m.
  • Runs:  Tuesday & Thursday, September 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, October 1, 6, & 8, 6-10 p.m., & Saturday’s, September 12, 19, 26, & October 10, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, October 10 will be offsite at the Youngwood campus.
Prerequisite: Minimum age of 14+. Requirements: Pen/Pencil, Notebook suitable for classroom, Fundamentals of Firefighter Skills, Fifth Edition & Turn-Out Gear (TOG) (not required the first night of class). The course is a combination of several PSFA & Non-PSFA programs. Total hours = 72, Min/Max for class: 10 / 30. $310.00 Tuition + $45 Material Fee

OPTIONAL, but required for Firefighter I Certification:
  • Support Firefighter NFPA 1010 with Traffic Incident Management Personnel Certification
  • Saturday, October 17 with report time of 7:30 a.m. for written and skills certification
  • Application Deadline:  Thursday, October 8 by 6 p.m. (Application for both certifications is REQUIRED) at the PSTC.
  • Exam Fee:  $250.00
