BEL22/26- BRIDGE Fireground Support - Summer 2027 - PSTC

Description: This 12-hour bridge course transitions students from the legacy EL22 curriculum (IFSTA text) to the new EL26 curriculum (Jones & Bartlett) Text by covering topics not previously included in EL22 that are required under the NFPA 1010 Support Level standard. It is designed for students who have completed Fireground Support ELFG and are seeking additional training or eligibility to test at the NFPA 1010 Support Level. The course focuses on firefighter safety, fire behavior, fire extinguishers, and essential tools and equipment aligned with current standards. Course Goal: The goal of this course is to bridge the gap between the EL22 curriculum and the EL26 program by providing Fireground Support ELFG graduates with instruction and hands on experience in NFPA 1010 Support Level topics not previously covered. Students will develop the knowledge and practical skills necessary to safely operate on emergency scenes and meet the requirements for further training or NFPA 1010 Support Level testing. Total Hours: 12 Hours depending on class size. Minimum Age: 14 (Students under the age of 16 at the start of class are required to have permission from a legal guardian and chief officer.) Referenced Texts: Fundamentals of Firefighter Skills (5th Ed.) – Jones & Bartlett. Requirements:  Pen/pencil or other appropriate note taking material, Required textbook and skill book, Full PPE ensemble (helmet, gloves, hood, coat, pants, boots, eye protection).
