This course will expand upon knowledge of fire dynamics as it relates to modern fire attack in residential structure fires. Specific topics will include fire spread via improper ventilation, flow path identification, and positive pressure ventilation. This course will be practically based with adequate time for multiple evolutions involving “doll house” type structures to show fire dynamics in a live fire setting. The basis of the course is currently completed UL/NIST research with further expansion of “real life” examples. Prerequisites: Fire Dynamics: Strategies and Tactics (FDST) or requisite knowledge of modern fire attack principles as per UL/NIST Research. Minimum age: 14 years old at start of course and ELEF. Student Equipment & Supplies: Pen/Pencil, and Notebook. Course is a Non-PSFA CEU program. Total hours = 4, CEUs = 0.4
