The American Heart Association HeartCode® BLS course is a blended learning program designed to prepare healthcare professionals to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies. This course teaches high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, as well as the use of an AED and techniques for relieving choking. Learners first complete the self-paced online portion, which uses interactive scenarios and real-life simulations to reinforce critical concepts and decision-making skills. Upon successful completion of the online portion, participants will attend an in-person skills session with an AHA-certified instructor to practice and demonstrate CPR and AED use in a hands-on environment. Upon successful completion of both the online and skills components, participants will earn an American Heart Association BLS Provider eCard, which is valid for two years. This course is ideal for healthcare providers, including nurses, physicians, EMTs, dental professionals, and other personnel, who require BLS certification for employment or licensure.

To purchase the eLearning online activation code from the American Heart Association, please select HeartCode® BLS Online. Purchasing the activation code from AHA does not enroll you in a skills session. You must register for both separately, completing the online portion first. A copy of your course completion certification must be brought to the in-person session.
