Reading Smoke for Jefferson Hills Fire & Rescue

Often, smoke issuing from a building is the only clue available to predict fire behavior and the likelihood of a flashover or rapid-fire spread. First-arriving officers, incident commanders, and safety officers MUST know how to rapidly read smoke. This course will provide the basic understanding of modern structure fire characteristics of reading fire smoke. Prerequisites: Minimum age: 14 years old at start of course and ELEF. Student Equipment & Supplies: Pen/Pencil, Notebook. Course is a Non-PSFA CEU program. Total hours = 4, CEUs = 0.4
