Metal Fabrication Design (Grades 7-12)

Become familiar with the operation of a plasma torch, water-jet machine, grinder, sandblaster and a TIG welder, and be exposed to metal fabrication techniques. You will be fabricating several objects. One object will be a small model car constructed of steel or aluminum. With supervision, you will have the opportunity to TIG weld the pieces of the car together. You may elect to polish or paint the car. You will keep the objects you fabricate. All materials will be provided. Wear long pants and closed toed shoes. The camp will be held at the college’s Advanced Technology Center in Mt. Pleasant.
